Same Day Dental Crowns With Advanced Technology

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are taking place in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It allows us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most sophisticated dental innovation, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Usually, a crown in the past would have required two appointments. The very first appointment consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. Throughout the 2nd appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the entire procedure can be finished in just one visit. We will use video imaging innovation to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to design the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly sent to a milling machine that carves the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a short-term along with a second appointment.

Corrective dentistry treatments can be crucial to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a visit.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a broad range of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

The Conversation Of The Day Is:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect issues early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal therapy. As soon as this happens, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it must be treated, and can not heal on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be really unpleasant. Symptoms that the pulp has ended up being infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no signs are apparent and the individual is unaware of any issue up until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is suggested for recovering a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
