At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have actually now been using this innovation for many years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in simply one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, generally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling device.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the device, which is much stronger.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is great.

Finally, the custom made crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We need to make sure that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Today's Topic Is:

Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a gorgeous and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with most dental restorations, veneers may someday need replacement; however, they are still very durable and will last multiple years, providing you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is positioned over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique typically involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is usually referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy usually involves two visits because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is usually less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and gorgeous veneers.
