CEREC IMPLANT CROWN

Updated On Sunday, September 23, 2018 05:02:14 AM

Thanks to innovative modern day technologies, we are proud to present the ability to provide you with same day crowns - that's right, a new crown in just one visit! Here's how it works.

First, high resolution digital 3-D impressions are taken with a small camera, a special camera developed just for this function.

Then, the new software analyzes the whole image and uses the results to compute a variety of excellent restoration possibilities. Next those possibilities are evaluated and refined by the doctor and the last restoration plan is picked.

Lastly your brand-new crown is milled by the cerec machine right in our office and put in your mouth, all in one appointment!

If you wish to understand more about the same day crown treatment, call our office and we would be more than happy to assist you.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide scope of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Topic Is:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
