For clients who need to get dental crowns, we are very pleased to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is usually made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a severely stained tooth that needs to be restored to its original, attractive look.

Typically getting a dental crown is a lengthy treatment. The dentist will have to take impressions, offer you with a short-term crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, and then have you return to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is actually milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth exactly and eliminate any need to send out impressions or images to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, removing the need to come back for a second appointment.

You also will not need to get a temporary crown, since our permanent crown will be instantly offered to you.

If you would like to meet our dental practitioner to find out more about same day crowns or to get a same day crown, call our office.

The Conversation Of The Day Will Be:

Dental Dentures

There are various kinds of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The whole mouth is analyzed and a determination is made regarding which teeth will need to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal performance and appearance return and one simply carries on as usual. Typically implants can be used to further support the dentures.

It is necessary to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the kind of food you have the ability to eat, your self-esteem in social circumstances, as well as your self-esteem.

Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the exact same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper full denture will often feel much better than a lower complete denture. In order to significantly enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we often suggest using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably improve comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has been in use for multiple years.
