Single Visit Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It allows us to produce crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental technology, consisting of 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have required two visits. The very first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the 2nd visit, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the whole treatment can be completed in simply one visit. We will use video imaging technology to photograph the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly sent to a milling device that carves the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to get a short-term in addition to a second visit.

Restorative dentistry procedures can be very important to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

Today's Topic Will Be About:

Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Just like most dental restorations, veneers may at some point require replacement; however, they are still very long lasting and will last many years, providing you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy typically involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is generally referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique generally involves two visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
