What's So Special About Same Day Dental Crowns?

In a normal dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and typically an unpleasant procedure that can take numerous weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which allows us to scan, design, and mill lovely tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Envision entering our dental office to receive a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, long lasting, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more information!

More About The Single Visit Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dentist will discuss the details of the procedure and your dentist will answer any concerns you may have. Your dentist will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used in a wide scope of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

The Topic For Today Will Be:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a terribly damaged joint.
