Why Choose Single Visit Crowns?

There are numerous advantages of same day crowns over standard crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one appointment, saving you significant time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a temporary crown, which eliminates significant potential pain and inconvenience of a lost short-term restoration. Only one visit means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was formerly treated with a root canal. No conventional impressions means no gagging.

  • Aesthetic appeals: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this new innovation restores your teeth to their natural strength, charm, and function and carefully match the composition of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is tougher than the traditional method of layering and pressing, so your smile will stay gorgeous for years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and technology can also be used for fillings. Since they are constructed out of porcelain, they are more resilient than white composite fillings. They are much more aesthetic than mercury consisting of silver fillings and tougher because of bonding technology.

If you have anymore concerns about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please do not hesitate to contact our office today. We will answer any concerns you have and you can make an appointment to talk with our dentist face to face.

The Discussion For Today Is:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect issues early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal treatment. When this happens, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be extremely agonizing. Signs that the pulp has become infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no symptoms appear and the individual is unaware of any problem until a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any additional infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
