The Benefits Of Using Single Visit Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It permits you to have your dental crown put in place in just one dental appointment.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which mimics the look of your natural teeth therefore making it aesthetically pleasing. It does not cause temperature sensitivity which is true in the case of dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same sturdiness as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more accurate. The impression made from this brand-new innovation is more precise compared to standard impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while traditional dental impression is done using salt alignate.

The only downside of a same day crown is that not all patients are candidates for this treatment. Patients with substantial tooth damage that has actually reached the gum line needs a traditional crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth needs a laboratory-manufactured crown due to the fact that they are meticulously made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this sort of procedure or you have additional questions or concerns regarding same day crowns, call us today.

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a terribly damaged joint.
