CEREC DENTAL CROWNS PROBLEMS
DUNNING NORTH DAKOTA

At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this technology for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that permits us to replace damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, typically in about an hour.

So exactly what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth material and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent out to the milling system.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your new restoration, which is great.

Finally, the custom made crown restoration bonded perfectly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We need to make certain that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad range of indications: partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, and onlays.

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of most patients, there are a number of ways to bleach teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Because tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous techniques: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and hassle-free lightening procedure. The visit is approximately one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays must be used every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
