Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a lovely and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to most dental restorations, veneers may at some point require replacement; however, they are still extremely durable and will last years, offering you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is positioned over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct method typically involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is normally referred to as bonding.
The indirect strategy normally involves two visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab made veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is generally less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your new and beautiful veneers.
