Porcelain Tooth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a lovely and appealing smile.
Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
As with the majority of dental restorations, veneers may at some point require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last multiple years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Set?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy generally involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect method normally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
