What Are Same Day Dental Crowns?

Same day crowns are a new technology that a dental practitioner can financially restore damaged teeth in a single visit using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling machine in one instrument. The dentist uses a special camera to take an precise image of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is downloaded and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner uses CAD technology to design the restoration. Then CAM takes over and instantly develops the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the dentist bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire process takes about one hour.

What Does This Innovation Mean For A Client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dental practitioners no longer have to develop temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the traditional 2nd appointment has actually been removed. This brand-new innovation has over 10 years of clinical research and documentation to support it. The restorations have actually been proven accurate, safe and reliable.

A Gorgeous Smile!

A beautiful smile is one of your biggest assets - a reflection of joy and good health.

Thanks to recent innovations in dentistry, getting the smile you always imagined is simpler - and faster than ever.

Today's Topic Is:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be used in certain scenarios where a tooth has been damaged or become stained. These are usually small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable methods instead of through a more expensive dental procedure.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is positioned on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
