Two Advantages Offered By Same Day Crowns

Crown procedures are exceptionally typical and are mainly used in place of a filling when the tooth has actually lost too much of its initial structure to support the filling.

One of the best methods to get a crown applied is to see a dental practitioner that offers same day crowns, which removes some of the inconvenience that comes along with a traditional crown procedure.

A same day crown is a great choice due to the fact that it can limit your discomfort and inconvenience.

Limit Discomfort

A same day crown is made possible when a dentist decides to bypass buying crowns from a dental lab and purchases the equipment to produce the crowns onsite.

One of the biggest benefits to this is that it negates the requirement for you to wear a short-term crown.

This is handy because a short-term crown can be a significant source of pain for the multiple days or weeks that you need to use it before your final crown is applied.

One factor that a temporary crown can add to your discomfort is that they are extremely rarely able to completely seal your tooth.

This can be a problem as that indicates that liquids, cold air, and food can possibly get under the temporary crown and reach your exposed nerve, which can be exceptionally uncomfortable.

Another reason that a short-term crown can be uncomfortable is because it can typically become quite loose. Once it is loose, the short-term crown can begin scraping and scratch the gums around it.

While a short-term crown is not meant to be used long term, why bother with it at all when you can get a same day crown and prevent one altogether?

Reduce Inconvenience

Finally, conventional crowns generally take up to several weeks to finish.

This is due to the fact that your first appointment is meant to fix the issues with your tooth, produce a mold for the long-term crown, and attach a short-term crown.

After that, you will end up waiting multiple days or weeks before you can return to the dentist for the long-term crown.

The issue with this technique is that you will need to schedule multiple visits, which can be really inconvenient if you have a hectic schedule due to school, work, or anything else.

However, a same day crown can be completed in simply one appointment, which removes much of the trouble associated with crown treatments.

Speak with your local dentist today in order to discuss whether a same day crown is a good fit for you and your situation.

A same day crown is a fantastic way to limit both your inconvenience and pain when getting a crown.

Today's Discussion Will Be About:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a treatment where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain situations where a tooth has been damaged or ended up being stained. These are generally minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably affordable methods rather than through a more expensive dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
