Normally, obtaining a crown for a broken or weakening tooth is a long procedure that includes numerous steps and potentially numerous days of wait time before you get your brand-new tooth.

A same day crown makes it possible for you to walk in to see a dentist and walk out with your new tooth currently in place. If you have a dental practitioner offering same day crowns and are anticipating your appointment, it is likely that you will have some concerns about the process.

Here are a few of the biggest concerns about same day crowns and the responses you will want to know.

How is a same day crown any different from a regular dental crown?

The reality is, there is not a lot of difference in the process to get a same day crown.

The only distinction is that you will not be sent home to await your long-term crown to be produced by a dental lab, as the crown will be made in the dental office while you are there.

This eliminated the time-consuming process of being fitted with a temporary crown and then later refitted with the permanent crown when it is complete.

How is it possible for a dentist to create a permanent crown during your appointment?

With improvements in dental technology, if a dentist has the best equipment in the office, together with the best skill, they can develop the new tooth from a solid piece of ceramic while you wait. This takes place using a device that takes the direct measurement of the mouth and existing teeth and transforms it into an actual prosthetic from the ceramic using accurate computer technology.

Besides the evident advantage of less time to finish, what are the advantages of same day crowns?

Same day crowns allow you to skip the entire step of a temporary crown, which can be a pain to care for and might be prone to dislodging with basic oral health, such as flossing and brushing.

Since whole steps are gotten rid of from the crowning procedure, such as several dental visits, you may even save some money to have a brand-new same day crown placed.

To walk into a dentist office and leave with a brand-new crown in one appointment is an ideal and logical option for clients who require help with a broken tooth.

Speak with your dental practitioner for more details about same day crowns.

Today's Subject Is:

Ultra-Sonic Cleanings

We use ultrasonic scalers for most adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners produce microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and getting rid of plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling commonly uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning suitable to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and then polished.
