Same day crowns are an innovative dental technology that is used for the restoration of decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth. This innovation can develop complete crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers. The same day crown device crafts a restoration in a matter of minutes.

Same day crown restorations are made of compressed porcelain. It is for this reason that they are more durable than laboratory restorations, which are layered porcelain. The most beneficial feature of getting a same day crown restoration is that it is achieved in one visit. In addition to the benefit of a one appointment restoration, there is no uncomfortable impression product to bite on or a temporary crown to wear.

The procedure for positioning of a same day crown restoration is very simple. The first step is to remove all degeneration from the tooth. The dentist will then form the tooth in preparation to take a digital picture. The tooth is then sprayed with a really fine powder. This permits the digital camera to take an appropriate image. Once this image is recorded, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D. This will enable the dentist to develop the restoration right in front of you.

Once the design is finished, the same day crown machine will mill the restoration. This step takes roughly 15 minutes. You can actually see this process if you would like. When the restoration is completed milling, the dentist will place the restoration on your tooth.

The Conversation Of The Day Will Be:

Bridges (Dental)

A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an excellent way to replace missing teeth.

There are numerous types of bridges. We will discuss the best options for your particular case. The "traditional bridge" is the most popular type and is typically made from porcelain fused to metal. These fixed bridges are most popular since they resemble your natural teeth. This kind of bridge includes 2 crowns that go over 2 anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and are connected on either side of the artificial teeth (pontics), filling the gap created by multiple missing teeth.

Dental bridges are extremely durable and will last multiple years with correct home care; however, they may have to be replaced or re-cemented due to normal wear.

A Couple Reasons For Getting A Fixed Bridge:

  • Restore chewing and speaking ability.

  • Maintain facial shape.

  • Fill space of missing teeth.

  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position.

  • Upgrade from a detachable partial denture to a permanent dental appliance.

  • Restore your smile.

What does getting a Fixed Bridge include?

Getting a bridge usually requires 2 or more visits. While the teeth are numb, the two anchoring teeth are prepared by removing a part of enamel to allow for a crown. Next, a highly accurate impression (mold) is made which will be sent out to a dental laboratory where the bridge will be fabricated. In addition, a temporary bridge will be made and worn for multiple weeks till your next appointment.

At the second visit, your permanent bridge will be thoroughly checked, adjusted, and cemented to achieve a proper fit and comfy bite.

You will receive care instructions at the conclusion of your treatment. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new permanent bridge.

Why Consider Dental Bridges?

This is an option for filling the space developed by a missing tooth. It is formed to appear like the missing tooth, and it takes its place in the mouth. The sides of a bridge uses the two surrounding teeth for assistance, hence the name. A bridge replaces the missing tooth, both functionally and cosmetically. Bridge work is as much an art as it is an specific science. The materials used might be gold alloys, porcelain bonded to metal alloy, or all ceramic material. The option of material depends upon requirements for strength, wear, and/or esthetics.

It is important that a missing tooth be replaced as quickly as possible for a number of reasons. If not treated the teeth surrounding the gap begin to move inward, creating a whole domino effect of bad things. Teeth use their neighbors for support, and, with one missing, they start to "fall." As this gets worse the bite changes in reaction to the pressure. This can ultimately result in problems with the entire jaw, e.g. TMJ. The surrounding teeth deteriorate and it is simply a matter of time before they, too, are lost. Gum disease ends up being a serious issue, with the difficulty of treatment increasing as the neglect continues.
