Why Are They Called Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge technology allows your dentist to take precise images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns provide exceptional convenience, value, and accuracy to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown procedure consists of three basic steps. 1st, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly accurate photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. 2nd, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. Third, your dentist will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which produces the crown out of a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will put it on your tooth.

What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer incomparable strength, durability, chip and stain resistance, and natural charm.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth preparation and preserve more of your tooth structure.

Conventional crowns require 2 office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a magnificently fixed tooth.

You can prevent the inconvenience and potential risks connected with ill-fitting short-term crowns.

Today's Topic Is:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouthpiece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a badly damaged joint.
