Some Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a typical dental treatment that is frequently needed when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has degraded to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Common crowns are fairly inconvenient to obtain, but there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a terrific option since they are more convenient and lead to less discomfort:

Less Pain

A conventional crown can lead to discomfort for a few reasons, however among the biggest sources of discomfort and pain is an outcome of needing to use a temporary crown.

A short-term crown is used as a placeholder to safeguard your exposed tooth up until your long-term crown can be delivered to your dentist. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks.

The problem with a short-term crown is that they are not really strong, which indicates that they can break or come loose extremely quickly.

A broken or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can trigger a fair bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves below the short-term crown.

Another source of pain comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get fairly agonizing and begin to bleed, which also opens up the course for possible infections.

Fortunately, a same-day crown will supply you with a long-term crown at the end of your first visit to the dental practitioner.

This eliminates the requirement for a short-term crown, thus enabling you to prevent all of the pain and discomfort.

Convenient

A conventional crown is not a very convenient treatment to have performed, mainly because it normally takes at least two visits to complete.

If your temporary crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another visit to have it replaced. This can be a huge issue if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that discourages taking time off in the middle of a hectic work day.

However, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single visit. This is made possible due to the fact that numerous dentists will purchase the equipment to make their own crowns, instead of having to purchase crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you prevent the inconvenience of needing to possibly spend weeks and several appointments to your dental practitioner before the treatment is over and done with.

Speak to your dentist and ask about the advantages offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can offer you with a convenient and fairly pain-free option to a traditional crown.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of patients, there are multiple methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Since tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab makes into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of daily use. 3 various strengths of gel may be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and practical lightening process. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment because it is so simple and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
