At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this technology for many years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to fix damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, usually in about an hour.

So what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the designing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent to the milling system.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your brand-new restoration, which is fantastic.

Finally, the customized crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We need to make sure that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Detecting issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, expensive procedures or surgeries. X-rays are primarily used to identify:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the medical professional to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a large format for easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done immediately. Digital format also allows us to send out and get your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
