Our practice likes new technology, specifically when it improves the dental care that we can provide to our patients. Because of this we now offer same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a remarkable new technology where stunning all porcelain crowns are created within two hours of the preparation of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dental practitioner prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to have the crown constructed. Throughout this time the patient would need to have a short-term plastic crown that was normally uncomfy.

Today, our equipment allows us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the patient leaves our office with the final crown that day!

  • There's no need to wear a temporary crown for 2 or 3 weeks.

  • There's no need to return once again to have the single visit crown placed on your tooth.

  • There's no need to be numbed up once more! No more shots!

Our practice likes same day crowns since it is made of lovely material and also exceptionally durable.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

Today's Conversation Is About:

Tooth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a gorgeous and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with many dental restorations, veneers might someday need replacement; however, they are still very durable and will last many years, providing you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct method generally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is usually referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory produced veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is typically less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and gorgeous veneers.
