There are various kinds of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.
The entire mouth is examined and a decision is made regarding which teeth will need to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular performance and look return and one just continues as usual. Typically implants can be used to further support the dentures.
It is very important to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures impact the kind of food you are able to eat, your self-esteem in social scenarios, and even your self-confidence.
A Couple Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:
- All Teeth missing in the same arch
- Restore chewing capability
- Restore a natural looking smile
- Economical alternative to other treatments
An upper full denture will almost always feel better than a lower complete denture. In order to considerably improve the fit of a lower complete denture, we frequently suggest using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly enhance comfort. Sometimes, the implants can even be positioned in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for numerous years.
