Our entire dental practice is state-of-the-art, except for our patient care and concern which is traditional. We know the discomfort missing teeth can cause clients, and therefore we are really delighted to be able to supply patients with same day crowns.

Dental crowns are used to reinforce a tooth, and return it to its original function. Dental crowns are made to color-match the nearby teeth, so they can not be spotted by others as being anything less than a long-term tooth. With a dental crown, you are able to eat anything you like, and your clear speech will never be disrupted. In fact, your dental crown is so natural feeling, you will not even know it is there in your mouth.

Same day crowns are an extremely interesting offering of our practice. We have the ability to supply you with a stunning new smile in simply one day. Our office has advanced devices that permits dental practitioners to provide you with crowns in just a small fraction of the time that was needed in the past.

CAD/CAM technology is what makes this amazing development possible. The acronym represents computer-aided design/computed-aided manufacturing. We have the ability to use this technology in our system. This system is used to restore teeth, start to finish, in one day. This will save you from an extra appointment to our practice, a week or two later. We're sure you have much more exciting things you would rather do with your time than to sit in our dentist's chair any longer than you have to!

Using our new system, we scan the prepared tooth in your mouth or from an impression, then send the info to our in-office milling station. The restoration is computer-milled to the specific specifications to fit your mouth in minutes. When the crown is crated, we position it in your mouth, and color, polish and restore your new tooth to a lovely and natural-looking radiance. This technology can also be used for same-day veneers or inlays.

If you need a crown in a hurry, for an upcoming social or company occasion, this process might indeed be perfect for you. If you are interested in finding out more about this procedure, call us today for a consultation.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and discover issues early). Sometimes deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal therapy. Once this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even damage the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and may be very unpleasant. Signs that the pulp has ended up being infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs appear and the person is unaware of any problem till a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Normally a core build-up and crown is suggested for bring back a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
