At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, exactly what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this innovation for multiple years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to fix broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that feel and look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, usually in about an hour.

So exactly what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth material and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working with the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent out to the milling device.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is fantastic.

Finally, the custom made crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time then we tidy up!

We have to make certain that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

The Topic Of The Day Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are numerous ways to whiten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth whitening system that will lighten teeth dramatically. Since tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous techniques: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is advised for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical whitening procedure. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays ought to be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
