Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an essential function in our practice. This remarkable development in chair side dentistry gives us the tools to create, produce, and position crowns, inlays and onlays in a single appointment.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The standard approach to a crown or inlay and onlay typically required a return visit after the client waited (with a short-term restoration in the tooth) for about two weeks while the restoration was produced in a separate lab. Same day crown CAD/CAM innovation eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns employ a special camera to take an accurate image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and shown on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to design the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes control of and immediately mills the restoration while the patient waits. At last, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The entire process takes about one hour, and there are no irritating temporaries or 2nd visit required!

Proven Technology

With 20 years of scientific research and more than 20 million restorations carried out worldwide, same day crowns have actually shown to be a an reliable, safe and convenient technology that we are delighted to offer to our clients.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

The Discussion For Today Will Be:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If untreated and required to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
