If you have a fractured or damaged tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or wish to remove unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent choice for you. Dental Crowns cover the visible surface area of the affected tooth, adding toughness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we offer on a case by case basis to clients who would benefit from the treatment. They allow clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their permanent dental crown in place that same day. This removes the need to have a temporary crown placed and then another appointment scheduled for the placement of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new innovation that scans the mouth to get the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are very strong and long lasting and constructed of the highest quality porcelain available. In some cases, a gold crown might be suggested for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clench your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the cost may differ between the two and you might want to discuss your budget plan too with the your dentist. Your dentist will go over with you the kinds of crowns available and offer you a suggestion based upon your certain scenario.

Call us to arrange a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to meeting you.

Today's Topic Is:

Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to most dental restorations, veneers might one day need replacement; however, they are still really long lasting and will last many years, offering you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct method typically involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is generally referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique normally involves two visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is normally less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
