Single Visit Crowns - A Smart Innovation

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It permits us to develop crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental innovation, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole procedure takes in between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Generally, a crown in the past would have required two visits. The very first appointment includes preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. Throughout the second appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the long-term one. With a same day crown, the whole treatment can be completed in simply one appointment. We will use video imaging technology to take a photo of the tooth and use CAD/CAM innovation to develop the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly sent to a milling device that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the brand-new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to wear a temporary as well as a second appointment.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be essential to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are a number of methods to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth significantly. Since tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous methods: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel may be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take numerous months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely quick and convenient bleaching process. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment due to the fact that it is so easy and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
