3 Reasons To Ask About Same Day Crowns

If you've ever had a crown positioned over one of your teeth in the past, you know that the procedure typically includes at least two visits to the dental practitioner and the placement of a short-term crown before you getting your permanent one.

However, there is a new procedure for installing crowns that can allow you to get a permanent crown the same day. As the name suggests, same day crown machines enables crowns to be developed right there next to the dental practitioner's chair.

Have a look at a couple of reasons that same day crowns might be right for you.

Better Looking Teeth

Same day crowns are made entirely of ceramic, eliminating the requirement for metal. While metal crowns are perfectly functional and safe, they're frequently considered less appealing than ceramic.

Ceramic crowns more closely resemble your natural enamel, making them an aesthetically preferable alternative, especially for highly-visible front teeth.

Same day crown machines can match the crown exactly to the shade of your natural teeth.

Saves Money And Time

Every hour you spend at the dentist's office is an hour off work or away from another activity or responsibility.

Needing to go back to the dental practitioner's office numerous times for one treatment might indicate getting time off at work authorized for more than one day, hiring a sitter for more than one day, or filling your vehicle with gas to drive out of your way more than once in a short time-span.

However you look at it, numerous dental appointments cost you cash, in addition to exactly what you're spending on the dental treatment. Getting everything carried out in one appointment conserves time, and time is money.

Saves More Natural Teeth

The device used in the same day crown procedure takes a digital scan of your tooth and then is used to mill the crown on the spot, using the exact requirements provided by the digital scan.

This permits the dentist to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is the healthiest alternative for your jaw.

This also enables the dental practitioner to use the machine to create inlays or onlays. These are partial crowns, used when you require more protection than a filling will offer but less than a complete crown.

Thanks to the more accurate digital measurements offered by the same day crown machine, teeth that may once have required a full crown may now be candidates for just a partial crown.

If you know that one of your broken teeth will most likely require a crown, make sure to make a visit with our dental practitioners today.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure in which we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain scenarios where a tooth has been broken or ended up being stained. These are typically minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive ways rather than through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to get a glossy finish as a last step.
