Porcelain Tooth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
As with most dental restorations, veneers might someday need replacement; however, they are still really resilient and will last many years, providing you a long lasting, beautiful smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This method is generally referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique usually involves two appointments because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will get care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
