Can Same Day Crowns Benefit Me?

With this brand-new innovation it enables dental practitioners to custom-craft restorations in as little as one hour. With this, we can produce natural looking crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers here in our office while you relax. Now, there is no longer a need to make multiple appointments to the dental practitioner's office to be measured and fitted with short-term restorations - you can enjoy a fantastic, natural looking, and durable solution for your missing or broken teeth today.

First, your dentist will consult with you to talk about the information of the procedure. During the treatment, the dentist will put a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special camera to take a photo of your tooth.

Using the brand-new software, the image acts as a map to design your tooth's restoration. Then, it will use a diamond bur and disk-work to create your restoration piece from ceramic.

Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

It makes your teeth stronger and more beautiful - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the top-quality ceramic product works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

The Conversation For Today Will Be:

Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease)

Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. Due to the fact that gum disease is generally painless, you might not know you have it. Also called periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is constantly forming on our teeth.

Some warning signs that can indicate a problem:

  • gums that bleed too quickly.

  • red, inflamed, tender gums.

  • gums that have pulled away from the teeth.

  • consistent bad breath or bad taste.

  • permanent teeth that are separating or loose.

  • any difference in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.

  • any difference in the fit of partial dentures.

There are numerous aspects that increase the danger of developing gum disease consisting of smoking, pregnancy, and diabetes. It is important to go to your dentist if you think you have gum disease because the earlier you treat it the better.

The early stage of periodontal disease is called gingivitis. If you have gingivitis, your gums might become red, inflamed and bleed easily. At this stage, the disease is still fixable and can normally be eliminated by a professional cleaning at your dental office, followed by day-to-day flossing and brushing.

Advanced periodontal disease is called periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis can result in the loss of bone and tissue that support the teeth and it may become more severe over time. If it does, your teeth will feel loose and start moving around in your mouth. It typically becomes worse slowly, but there can be periods of fast progression.

Aggressive periodontitis is a highly destructive form of periodontal disease that occurs in patients who are otherwise healthy. Common features include rapid loss of bone and tissue and may occur in some areas of the mouth, or in the entire mouth.

Research between systemic diseases and gum diseases is ongoing. While a link is not conclusive, some research studies suggest that severe gum disease may be associated with multiple other health conditions such as stroke or diabetes.

Regular dental checkups and gum examinations are essential. The treatment techniques that most dental experts diagnose will depend upon the kind of disease and how far the condition has actually progressed. Excellent dental care in your home is vital to help keep gum disease from becoming more severe or recurring.
