Are you too busy for the normal two dental appointment crown?

Technology today is altering our daily lives. Many individuals, however, aren't aware that innovation also is impacting dentistry in new and interesting methods.

Cutting-edge innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less discomfort and producing rewarding results.

One development instrument, called same day crowns, allow dental practitioners to rapidly fix broken teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, saving patients time and inconvenience.

What are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, mean that a dentist can economically fix broken teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer, and milling device in one instrument.

The dental practitioner uses a unique camera to take a precise picture of the broken tooth. This optical impression is moved and shown on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner uses CAD innovation to develop the restoration. The CAM takes over and immediately develops the restoration while the patient waits.

At lastly, the dental practitioner bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire procedure takes about 2 hours.

What does this innovation mean for a patient?

A tooth-colored restoration indicates no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dental practitioners don't need to develop temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the standard second appointment has been removed.

Same day crowns have 20 years of clinical research and documentation to support the technology. The restorations have been proven accurate, safe and reliable.

The Conversation For Today Is:

Porcelain Tooth Veneers

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a beautiful and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with most dental restorations, veneers may someday need replacement; however, they are still really resilient and will last years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or grinning. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct method normally involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is generally referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy generally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are typically made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
