Porcelain Teeth Veneers
Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and appealing smile.
Veneers can completely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
As with most dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still really resilient and will last multiple years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct method usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is normally referred to as bonding.
The indirect technique typically involves two appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a temporary covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is generally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
