Why Choose One Day Crowns?

There are many benefits of one day crowns over traditional crown technology.

  • Time: Same day crowns are made in one appointment, conserving you significant time away from your job and family.

  • Convenience: With same day crowns, there is no requirement for a short-term crown, which eliminates significant potential pain and inconvenience of a lost short-term restoration. Only one visit means only one injection, or no injections if the tooth was previously treated with a root canal. No conventional impressions resulting in no gagging.

  • Looks: The strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials of this brand-new technology restores your teeth to their natural durability, appeal, and function and carefully match the structure of natural tooth structure.

  • Durability: Milled ceramic is tougher than the standard technique of layering and pressing, so your smile will remain lovely for many years!

  • Fillings: Same day crown material and technology can also be used for fillings. Because they are constructed of porcelain, they are more resilient than white composite fillings. They are a lot more aesthetic than mercury including silver fillings and stronger because of bonding technology.

If you have any more concerns about same day crowns or porcelain crowns, please do not hesitate to call our office today. We will answer any questions you have and you can make an appointment to talk to our dentist in person.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Gum Disease (Periodontal Disease)

Gum disease is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. Since gum disease is generally painless, you may not know you have it. Also referred to as periodontal disease, gum disease is caused by plaque, the sticky film of bacteria that is constantly forming on our teeth.

Some warning signs that may indicate an issue:

  • gums that bleed too quickly.

  • red, swollen, sore gums.

  • gums that have actually pulled away from the teeth.

  • persistent bad breath or bad taste.

  • permanent teeth that are separating or loose.

  • any difference in the way your teeth fit together when you bite.

  • any change in the fit of partial dentures.

There are numerous aspects that increase the risk of developing gum disease including smoking, pregnancy, and diabetes. It is very important to visit your dentist if you believe you have gum disease because the quicker you treat it the better.

The early stage of gum disease is called gingivitis. If you have gingivitis, your gums may end up being red, inflamed and bleed easily. At this phase, the disease is still fixable and can normally be eliminated by a professional cleaning at your dental office, followed by day-to-day flossing and brushing.

Advanced gum disease is called periodontitis. Chronic periodontitis can result in the loss of bone and tissue that support the teeth and it may become more extreme with time. If it does, your teeth will feel loose and start moving around in your mouth. It normally gets worse slowly, however there can be periods of fast progression.

Aggressive periodontitis is a highly damaging type of gum disease that happens in patients who are otherwise healthy. Common features include rapid loss of bone and tissue and might occur in some areas of the mouth, or in the entire mouth.

Research between systemic diseases and gum diseases is ongoing. While a link is not conclusive, some research studies suggest that severe gum disease might be connected with multiple other health conditions such as stroke or diabetes.

Routine dental examinations and periodontal examinations are essential. The treatment methods that most dental professionals diagnose will depend upon the kind of disease and how far the condition has progressed. Good dental care in your home is necessary to help keep periodontal disease from becoming more serious or recurring.
