Why Are They Called Same Day Crowns?

This advanced technology permits your dentist to take accurate pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns provide unparalleled convenience, value, and precision to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of 3 basic steps. First, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take extremely precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Second, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dental practitioner will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling device which develops the crown out of a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for added strength and esthetics, your dentist will position it on your tooth.

What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to produce our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide unparalleled toughness, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural beauty.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth prep work and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns need 2 office visits. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a wonderfully restored tooth.

You can avoid the trouble and potential risks associated with ill-fitting short-term crowns.

Today Were Going Over:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find issues early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal therapy. As soon as this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even deteriorate the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and might be extremely unpleasant. Signs that the pulp has ended up being infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no symptoms are apparent and the person is unaware of any problem until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has had root canal treatment.
