If you have a missing tooth or teeth, you know the embarrassment and discomfort this can cause. You have probably been investigating ways you can restore your smile and great bite. We believe you will be very interested to know that at our practice, you have the ability to receive same day crowns! It is a comfortable one-day treatment!

Our whole dental practice is state-of-the-art, except for our client care and concern which is traditional. We know the discomfort missing teeth can cause clients, and therefore we are very happy to be able to offer patients with same day crowns.

Dental crowns are used to enhance a tooth, and return it to its original function. Dental crowns are made to color-match the nearby teeth, so they can not be spotted by others as being anything less than a long-term tooth. With a dental crown, you are able to eat anything you like, and your clear speech will never be interrupted. In fact, your dental crown is so natural feeling, you will not even know it is there in your mouth.

Same day crowns are a very exciting offering of our practice. We are able to offer you with a stunning brand-new smile in simply one day. Our office has advanced equipment that permits dentists to provide you with crowns in just a small fraction of the time that was needed previously.

CAD/CAM innovation is what makes this exciting development possible. The acronym represents computer-aided design/computed-aided manufacturing. We are able to use this innovation in our system. This system is used to fix teeth, start to finish, in one day. This will save you from an additional visit to our practice, a week or two later. We're sure you have a lot more interesting things you would rather do with your time than to sit in our dentist's chair any longer than you have to!

Using our brand-new system, we scan the prepared tooth in your mouth or from an impression, then send out the information to our in-office milling station. The restoration is computer-milled to the specific specifications to fit your mouth in minutes. When the crown is crated, we put it in your mouth, and color, polish and restore your new tooth to a stunning and natural-looking luster. This innovation can also be used for same-day veneers or inlays.

If you require a crown in a hurry, for an upcoming social or business occasion, this procedure may undoubtedly be ideal for you. If you are interested in learning more about this procedure, contact us today for a visit.

The Topic For Today Is:

Bridges (Dental)

A dental bridge is a fixed (non-removable) appliance and is an exceptional method to replace missing teeth.

There are a number of kinds of bridges. We will talk about the very best options for your specific case. The "traditional bridge" is the most popular type and is normally made of porcelain fused to metal. These fixed bridges are most popular since they resemble your natural teeth. This kind of bridge consists of 2 crowns that go over 2 anchoring teeth (abutment teeth) and are connected on either side of the artificial teeth (pontics), filling the space created by multiple missing teeth.

Dental bridges are highly durable and will last years with proper home care; however, they may need to be replaced or re-cemented due to normal wear.

Reasons For Considering Getting A Fixed Bridge:

  • Restore chewing and speaking capability.

  • Maintain facial shape.

  • Fill space of missing teeth.

  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position.

  • Upgrade from a detachable partial denture to a permanent dental appliance.

  • Restore your smile.

Exactly what does getting a Fixed Bridge include?

Getting a bridge normally requires 2 or more visits. While the teeth are numb, the two anchoring teeth are prepared by removing a portion of enamel to enable a crown. Next, a highly accurate impression (mold) is made which will be sent to a dental laboratory where the bridge will be produced. In addition, a temporary bridge will be made and worn for a number of weeks up until your next appointment.

At the 2nd visit, your permanent bridge will be thoroughly inspected, adjusted, and cemented to accomplish a correct fit and comfortable bite.

You will receive care directions at the conclusion of your treatment. Proper brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will help in the life of your new permanent bridge.

Why Should You Consider Dental Bridges?

This is an option for filling the area created by a missing tooth. It is formed to appear like the missing tooth, and it takes its place in the mouth. The sides of a bridge uses the two surrounding teeth for assistance, hence the name. A bridge replaces the missing tooth, both functionally and cosmetically. Bridge work is as much an art as it is an exact science. The materials used may be gold alloys, porcelain bonded to metal alloy, or all ceramic material. The option of material depends upon requirements for strength, wear, and/or esthetics.

It is necessary that a missing tooth be replaced as quickly as possible for multiple reasons. If not treated the teeth surrounding the space begin to shift inward, producing an entire chain reaction of bad things. Teeth use their neighbors for support, and, with one missing, they start to "fall." As this gets worse the bite changes in reaction to the pressure. This can ultimately lead to problems with the whole jaw, e.g. TMJ. The surrounding teeth weaken and it is simply a matter of time before they, too, are lost. Gum disease becomes a severe problem, with the difficulty of treatment enhancing as the neglect continues.
