If you have a fractured or damaged tooth, are experiencing discomfort when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or wish to remove unattractive metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a good option for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface of the affected tooth, adding toughness and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we offer on a case by case basis to patients who would gain from the procedure. They enable clients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This eliminates the need to have a short-term crown placed then another visit set up for the placement of the final crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our brand-new innovation that scans the mouth to get the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are extremely strong and long lasting and constructed out of the highest quality porcelain available. In many cases, a gold crown might be suggested for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may vary between the two and you may wish to talk about your budget too with the your dental practitioner. Your dental practitioner will discuss with you the kinds of crowns available and give you a recommendation based on your certain scenario.

Call us to schedule a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to talking to you.

Today Were Discussing:

Root Canal

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal therapy. When this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not heal on its own. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be extremely painful. Symptoms that the pulp has ended up being infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs are apparent and the person is unaware of any problem till a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. As soon as the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is suggested for recovering a tooth that has actually had root canal treatment.
