Obtain A Perfect Smile With Same Day Crowns

Same Day Crowns address aesthetic requirements, bring back tooth function, and boost the general health of your mouth. In cases where teeth have huge broken down fillings, a crown can protect and preserve the remaining natural tooth.

To boost your smile, a metal-free, tooth-colored same day crown can also replace an older metal or porcelain crown. Following root canal therapy, a crown is generally placed over the remaining tooth structure to preserve aesthetic and tooth function.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify problems early). Often deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also trigger the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal treatment. When this happens, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be extremely uncomfortable. Symptoms that the pulp has actually ended up being infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no symptoms appear and the individual is unaware of any problem till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
