TOOTH IMPLANTS IN ONE DAY

Why Are They Called Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge technology permits your dental practitioner to take precise pictures of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and position a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns offer exceptional benefits, value, and precision to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown procedure includes 3 basic steps. 1st, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, designs your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dental practitioner will send out the design to their in-office precision milling machine which produces the crown out of a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will put it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer incomparable strength, durability, chip and stain resistance, and natural charm.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth prep work and protect more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns require 2 office visits. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a beautifully restored tooth.

You can avoid the inconvenience and potential threats related to ill-fitting temporary crowns.

The Discussion For Today Is:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If untreated and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a badly damaged joint.
