At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this innovation for multiple years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to replace broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in simply one visit. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, typically in about an hour.

So exactly what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth material and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we stop working in the mouth and start working on the computer.

Everybody enjoys seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling unit.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't built up layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the machine, which is much stronger.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is wonderful.

At last, the customized crown restoration bonded effortlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time then we clean up!

We have to make certain that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Porcelain Tooth Veneers

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are custom made (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with many dental restorations, veneers may one day require replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy typically involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique usually involves two visits because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
