What Are Same Day Dental Crowns?

The same day crown is a innovation for restoring broken teeth, and this restoration can be finished in a single appointment to the dentist's office. It makes your teeth tougher and more stunning, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the top-quality ceramic material is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

The Same Day Crown Process

During your visit, you and your dentist will discuss the details of the treatment and your dental practitioner will address any questions you may have. Your dental practitioner will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Today's Topic Is:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of most patients, there are multiple methods to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous techniques: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel may be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely fast and practical whitening process. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment since it is so simple and fast!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
