What Is So Great About Single Visit Dental Crowns?

In a typical dental practice, getting dental crowns is a long and frequently an uncomfortable process that can take multiple weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which allows us to scan, design, and mill beautiful tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Envision coming into our dental office to get a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, resilient, and aesthetically pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for more information!

The Same Day Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the information of the treatment and your dental practitioner will address any questions you may have. Your dental practitioner will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the brand-new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital imagery of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a broad scope of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Subject Is:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of most clients, there are a number of methods to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Since tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple approaches: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 various strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is recommended for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and convenient lightening procedure. The appointment is around one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment since it is so simple and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
