Dental Dentures

There are various types of dentures, however they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is analyzed and a determination is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the normal functionality and appearance return and one simply continues as usual. Often implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.

It is necessary to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when as compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the kind of food you have the ability to eat, your confidence in social scenarios, and even your self-confidence.

A Few Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper full denture will often feel much better than a lower full denture. In order to considerably enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we often suggest using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants placed in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably improve comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has been in use for numerous years.
