A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a typical dental procedure that is frequently needed when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually degraded to the point where a filling will not work.

Typical crowns are fairly troublesome to obtain, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a terrific choice because they are more convenient and result in less discomfort:

Less Pain

A standard crown can lead to pain for a few reasons, but among the greatest sources of pain and discomfort is a result of having to wear a temporary crown.

A temporary crown is applied as a placeholder to protect your exposed tooth up until your permanent crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

The problem with a short-term crown is that they are not very strong, which means that they can break or come loose very easily.

A busted or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can cause a fair bit of discomfort if they reach the exposed nerves beneath the short-term crown.

Another source of discomfort comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get fairly unpleasant and begin to bleed, which also opens up the course for potential infections.

Thankfully, a same-day crown will provide you with a permanent crown at the end of your first visit to the dental practitioner.

This eliminates the requirement for a temporary crown, thus permitting you to prevent all the discomfort and pain.

More Convenient

A conventional crown is not a very convenient treatment to have carried out, mostly because it typically takes at least 2 visits to finish.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another visit to have it replaced. This can be a huge problem if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents taking time off in the middle of a busy work day.

However, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single visit. This is made possible since lots of dentists will purchase the equipment to make their own crowns, rather than needing to buy crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you avoid the hassle of needing to possibly spend weeks and multiple appointments to your dentist before the procedure is over and done with.

Speak with your dentist and ask about the benefits provided by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can offer you with a practical and relatively pain-free alternative to a conventional crown.

The Discussion For Today Is:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are a number of methods to lighten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will whiten teeth considerably. Since tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of approaches: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of daily use. 3 various strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and hassle-free bleaching process. The visit is approximately one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment since it is so easy and quick!

Tooth whitening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
