Single Visit Dental Crowns With Advanced Technology

We strive to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are occurring in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown innovation in our office. It allows us to develop crowns and bigger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most advanced dental technology, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM technology. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The whole treatment takes between 1-2 hours and can be completed in one sitting.

Usually, a crown in the past would have needed two visits. The very first appointment consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a temporary crown. Throughout the second appointment, the short-term crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the whole procedure can be finished in simply one appointment. We will use video imaging innovation to photograph the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to create the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly transferred to a milling device that sculpts the restoration out of a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This eliminates the need to wear a short-term in addition to a second appointment.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be very important to the general health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

The Discussion Of The Day Is:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of patients, there are numerous ways to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will bleach teeth considerably. Because tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple approaches: custom made tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and practical lightening process. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment due to the fact that it is so easy and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
