What Are Same Day Dental Crowns?

The same day crown is a innovation for fixing broken teeth, and this restoration can be finished in a single visit to the dentist's office. It makes your teeth stronger and more beautiful, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the state-of-the-art ceramic material works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will go over the information of the treatment and your dental practitioner will answer any questions you may have. Your dentist will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be developed according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Today's Topic Is:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of a lot of patients, there are multiple ways to bleach teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Since tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple approaches: customizeded tray lightening, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of daily use. Three different strengths of gel may be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely quick and practical whitening procedure. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment since it is so easy and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays should be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
