The Topic For Today Is:

Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a beautiful and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with the majority of dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still really resilient and will last years, offering you a long lasting, gorgeous smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is placed over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique generally involves placing composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect method typically involves 2 visits because the veneers will be produced at a dental laboratory. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is usually less unpleasant. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care instructions for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and lovely veneers.
