NEW SMILE IN A DAY

What Are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns are a new technology that a dental expert can financially restore damaged teeth in a single consultation using a premium ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How Does It Work?

Same day crowns use a CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer and a milling device in one instrument. The dental practitioner uses a special camera to take an precise image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist uses CAD innovation to create the restoration. Then CAM takes over and instantly produces the restoration while the client waits. Finally, the dental practitioner bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The whole procedure takes about one hour.

What Does This Innovation Mean For A Client?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dental practitioners no longer need to develop temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the traditional second appointment has actually been removed. This new technology has more than 10 years of clinical research and documentation to support it. The restorations have been proven accurate, safe and efficient.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Ultrasonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for a lot of adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners produce tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and getting rid of plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help maintain optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach locations, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning suitable to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning procedure is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfy.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to look for any residual deposits and after that polished.
