What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

There are numerous benefits to having treatment with same day crowns over conventional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is performed in a single appointment, you only have to see the dental practitioner one time, take one day away from your work to have the procedure, instead of the usual two or 3 appointments.

  • Only one anesthetic injections, since the entire procedure can be performed within an hour you just need to have one injection.

  • Your dentist remains in complete control of the final result, given that the crown or inlay are designed and fabricated from start to finish by your dental practitioner, they have total control over how it will fit and look.

  • No temporary restorations, which can typically fall off in between appointments if they are not taken care of appropriately.

At our practice we want to preserve your dental health and assist you to improve your appearance. Our knowledgeable and friendly personnel takes great pride in keeping your smile lovely.

The Topic For Today Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Identifying problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive procedures or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the doctor to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a big format for much easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
