Today's Topic Will Be About:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are multiple ways to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Since tooth bleaching just works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of techniques: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three various strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is suggested for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and convenient bleaching process. The visit is around one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients like this treatment because it is so easy and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays ought to be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
