Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)
Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a gorgeous and attractive smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal solution in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Just like most dental restorations, veneers might one day need replacement; however, they are still really long lasting and will last years, providing you a long lasting, beautiful smile.
How Are Veneers Placed?
Veneers are a dental treatment where a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is usually referred to as bonding.
The indirect method typically involves two appointments because the veneers will be produced at a dental lab. At the very first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are generally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.
The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the procedure is usually less unpleasant. Veneers are not suggested for teeth that have large fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care directions for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and stunning veneers.
