Today's Topic Is About:

Dental Dentures

There are different kinds of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is great enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is analyzed and a determination is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will remain. The loose teeth are then extracted. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are positioned in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular capability and appearance return and one simply carries on as usual. Often implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.

It is very important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the kind of food you are able to eat, your confidence in social situations, and even your self-esteem.

Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper complete denture will usually feel much better than a lower complete denture. In order to considerably enhance the fit of a lower full denture, we often recommend utilizing dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and significantly improve comfort. Often, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has been in use for numerous years.
