Our practice likes new technology, specifically when it improves the dental care that we can offer to our patients. Because of this we now offer same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a wonderful brand-new technology where lovely all porcelain crowns are produced within 2 hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to get the crown built. During this time the patient would need to have a short-term plastic crown that was normally uncomfortable.

Today, our devices allows us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a brand-new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the patient leaves our office with the permanent crown that day!

  • There's no need to have a short-term crown for two to three weeks.

  • There is no need to return once again to have the one day crown placed on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed up once more! No more needles!

Our practice prefers same day crowns due to the fact that it is made of beautiful material as well as extremely resilient.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

Today Were Discussing:

Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a stunning and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating many cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to many dental restorations, veneers may at some point need replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last multiple years, offering you a long lasting, stunning smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is positioned over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The procedure can be direct or indirect.

The direct technique usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect method generally involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a temporary covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are extremely esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is usually less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
