A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental treatment that is typically required when somebody's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually deteriorated to the point where a filling will not be effective.

Normal crowns are fairly inconvenient to get, but there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a terrific choice since they are easier and result in less discomfort:

A Lot Less Painful

A standard crown can lead to discomfort for a couple of reasons, however one of the most significant sources of pain and discomfort is an outcome of needing to use a short-term crown.

A short-term crown is used as a placeholder to protect your exposed tooth up until your permanent crown can be provided to your dental practitioner. This can take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

The problem with a temporary crown is that they are not extremely strong, which indicates that they can break or come loose really easily.

A busted or loose short-term crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can trigger quite a bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves below the temporary crown.

Another source of discomfort originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get rather painful and start to bleed, which also opens the course for possible infections.

Fortunately, a same-day crown will provide you with a permanent crown at the end of your first appointment to the dental practitioner.

This gets rid of the requirement for a temporary crown, therefore allowing you to avoid all of the discomfort and pain.

Convenient

A standard crown is not a very practical treatment to have carried out, primarily due to the fact that it usually takes at least two appointments to finish.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another appointment to have it changed. This can be a huge problem if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents taking some time off in the middle of a busy work day.

However, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single visit. This is made possible due to the fact that many dental practitioners will buy the equipment to make their own crowns, instead of having to purchase crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you prevent the hassle of having to possibly invest weeks and numerous appointments to your dental practitioner before the treatment is over and done with.

Speak to your dentist and ask about the advantages offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can offer you with a convenient and relatively pain-free option to a standard crown.

The Discussion Of The Day Will Be:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Identifying problems with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, pricey procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mostly used to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over traditional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make client communication more efficient. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and accurately.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the patient and the physician to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, eliminating the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you rapidly.
