Single Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be requiring a dental procedure that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you might be beginning to fear the time you will need to spend at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we offer a great time-saving solution for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have expert and highly-trained dentists on staff. At our dental practice we include advanced innovations and treatments to provide our patients with the very best restorative, preventive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who have to get dental crowns, we are extremely delighted to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 various names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help reinforce the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to reinforce a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a severely discolored tooth that needs to be brought back to its original, attractive look.

Usually getting a dental crown is a prolonged treatment. The dentist will need to take impressions, offer you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, then have you go back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to develop a crown.

This crown is actually milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and eliminate any need to send impressions or photos to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, removing the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not have to get a short-term crown, since our permanent crown will be immediately available to you.

If you want to meet our dentist to learn more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, contact our practice.

Today's Subject Is:

Teeth Veneers (Porcelain)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a gorgeous and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to most dental restorations, veneers may at some point require replacement; however, they are still extremely durable and will last many years, giving you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Placed?

Veneers are a dental procedure where a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are seen when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy typically involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect technique normally involves 2 visits because the veneers will be made at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are provided a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory made veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The advantage of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is usually less uncomfortable. Veneers are not advised for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care guidelines for your veneers. Correct brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and beautiful veneers.
