The Discussion For Today Is:

Porcelain Veneers (Tooth)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of long lasting, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental laboratory. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a gorgeous and attractive smile.

Veneers can entirely reshape your teeth and smile. They can typically be alternatives to crowns and the perfect option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to the majority of dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still really durable and will last multiple years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is put over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are normally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy typically involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This technique is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy normally involves 2 appointments because the veneers will be made at a dental lab. At the first appointment the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab produced veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are really esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is typically less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have huge fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Proper brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will help in the life of your brand-new and lovely veneers.
